Scenic route takes you along the beautiful White River to the Big Bluff overlook via the Big Bluff Trail. 10K runners will also experience the Oakridge Mountain Bike Trail. Both singletrack trail sections are typical Ozarks terrain, with plenty of rocks and roots to enjoy! The Race will begin and end with about a 3/4 mile flat road section.
Participants are encouraged to stop by and camp at the State Park on the Friday prior to race day. Packets can also be picked up race morning from 8:00-8:45 am. Race will start promptly at 9:00 am.

Big Bluff Trail
The first part of this loop trail is a level walk over the remains of the railroad tram built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to bring in steel and lumber from Cotter to construct Bull Shoals Dam. Once the trail crosses the paved road, it goes up the hillside to an area overlooking the White River, Bull Shoals Dam, and the Ozark hill country. The trail then leads through cedar glades, mature deciduous forests and across streams. These areas provide excellent habitat for colorful Ozark wildflowers.
Oakridge Mountain Bike Trail
Constructed by the Bull Shoals-Lakeview Rotary Club, this multi-use trail offers both hikers and mountain bikers access to remote areas of the park. The trail traverses the oak-hickory upland forest for a unique walking or riding experience. Along the trail are creek crossings, dirt roads, open meadows, long downhills, and taxing uphills. Depending on the direction of travel, the loop trail allows users to choose from two levels of difficulty: Clockwise (marked with blue blazes) - moderately difficult with strenuous uphill slopes. Counter-clockwise (marked with green blazes) - moderately easy. (We're going clockwise!)
Either course, starts at the pavilion where the green line is marked. We'll run out of the campground (yellow) around the blue trail for the 5K and both the blue and red for the 10K, back along the yellow to the finish:
Yellow + Blue = 5K Course
Yellow + Blue + Red = 10K Course .
